Rota Antalya

A mobile travel guide for Antalya that surfaces the city's natural, historical and cultural heritage past the usual sun-sand-sea narrative — 250+ destinations in four languages, original photography, and a gamified personal-route experience. Still live on iOS and Android.

Overview
Rota Antalya is one of those projects I worked on with real personal investment. The brief was to surface Antalya's natural, historical and cultural heritage past the usual sun-sand-sea narrative — and to do it as a free mobile travel guide aimed at both tourists and locals. We built it as a sub-contractor to the Antalya Chamber of Commerce (ATSO), with funding from the Western Mediterranean Development Agency (BAKA), and I led product on our side.
We hand-picked 250+ destinations across the city and ran a content operation that went from library research all the way to fieldwork to make sure each one was right. We partnered with Önder Koca, one of Antalya's leading landscape photographers, to build an original photo library covering every destination — no stock imagery anywhere in the app. The narrative content was written in four languages (Turkish, English, Russian and German) and professionally voiced, so users could either read or listen to each destination.
The product was built in Flutter — at the time one of the leading cross-platform frameworks — and shipped on both iOS and Android, free for users. It pairs turn-by-turn navigation with user-driven interaction and gamification: users can build their own routes, check in at destinations they visit and collect points along the way. A companion marketing site (rotaantalya.com) shipped alongside the app at launch. Both apps remain live in their respective stores.
